Turbines

Gas turbines, from grid to site.

Gas turbines power baseload plants for national grids and run on skids at data centers, oil fields and industrial sites. Here is how a plant works, and how our turbine program fits in.

How it works

Inside a combined-cycle plant.

A gas turbine makes power directly. In combined cycle, its hot exhaust raises steam to drive a second turbine. Switch modes and select a stage to follow the energy through the plant.

Air inlet

Air is filtered and conditioned before it enters the turbine. Clean air protects the compressor and keeps output steady at hot, dusty or coastal sites.

Aeroderivative program

Aviation engineering, put to work on the ground.

Aeroderivative gas turbines share their core with jet engines. They are compact, start in minutes and follow load closely. Our program draws on the DTX group's aviation engineering experience to supply them where they are needed. Select an application.

Peaking and grid support.

Units in a utility plant cover the evening peak, back up larger plant and steady grids with a growing share of solar and wind. Paired with heat recovery, they deliver combined-cycle output.

  • Starts in minutes
  • Efficient at part load
  • Phased additions as demand grows

Why now

Gas turbines are in short supply, and lead times for new units are years long.

Demand for gas-fired generation is rising worldwide, driven by data centers, industrial growth and the retirement of coal plants. Manufacturers' order books are full, and many projects cannot wait for new units.

Our program draws on the DTX group's aviation engineering experience to offer a faster route to proven turbine capacity, for DTX Power projects and for utilities, developers and industrial users.

Customers

Utilities, independent power producers, data center operators, oil and gas companies and industrial users.

Supply

Individual units, skid-mounted packages, or power under contract.
